Export Medical Devices to South Africa and the rest of Africa.
Participate in the African Medical Devices Exchange.
We have pleasure inviting your company to attend an “Information Session” on the market opportunities for your medical devices and in vitro diagnostic (IVD) devices in South Africa and the rest of Africa respectively.
The African Medical Devices Exchange is a marketing initiative for manufacturers and exporters of medical devices and in vitro diagnostic (IVD) devices to trade their products in these markets by having their brochures/catalogues distributed to both importers and wholesalers.
A leading South African government-tendering consultancy, TaranisCo Advisory and medical product distributor, Afri-Sky Holdings, has created the Exchange to offer a marketing distribution channel for manufacturers an exporters of medical devices and IVD’s.
The South African government now requires all local importers, exporters and distributors to become registered before they can trade in medical devices and IVD’s. In effect it means that your products can only be exported to South Africa, if it is through such a licensed trader. Otherwise your products won’t be able to sold in the market.
Soon they will also be required to list all the medical devices and IVD’s they are trading in with the relevant authorities, which means, that any foreign manufactured device will not be allowed in the market, unless such a “licensed trader” registers it.
According, to Mr Marlon Burgess, Director of Afri-Sky Holdings, who also serves on the Board of the South African Medical Devices Industry Association (SAMED), “it has become essential for foreign manufacturers and exporters of medical devices and IVD’s to form distribution partnerships with “licensed” local companies if they are interested to supply their products in the market and to have it listed as soon as possible to participate in government tenders”
It is for this reason, that we’ve have established the Exchange to market manufacturers and exporters in both the South African and African markets respectively.
We therefore would like to invite you to attend the Information Session to inform you on these new Regulations and how you could export your products through such licensed traders in South Africa.
